چکیده

The modern development of quantum technology enables people to control quantum process of microscopic system by external field [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]. In the point of view of quantum mechanics, the objective of a quantum control is to reach a desired state (called target state) from an initial state of the controlled system by manipulating its external parameters. Some aspects in quantum information can be understood according to quantum control [7]. For example, quantum computation, which manipulates the evolution of a quantum system by appropriate logic gate operations, is essentially a quantum control process by external parameters. In quantum error correction, the feedback control is used to detect the unwanted couplings and correct them [1]. Quantum measurement can also be regard as a special control process, which projects the unknown state into the definite state that we desired with maximized probability through wave function collapse.

Environment-induced dephasing versus von Neumann measurements in proton tunneling

In this work we compare two theoretical approaches to modeling the action of the environment on an open quantum system. It is often assumed that as the temperature of the environment surrounding a quantum system increases, so does the speed of environment-induced dephasing, or decoherence (dynamical noise), and so the efficacy of processes such as quantum tunneling drops. An alternative way of ...

Quantum Control by Imaging : The Zeno effect in an ultracold lattice gas

We demonstrate the control of quantum tunneling in an ultracold lattice gas by the measurement backaction imposed by an imaging process. A in situ imaging technique is used to acquire repeated images of an ultracold gas confined in a shallow optical lattice. The backaction induced by these position measurements modifies the coherent quantum tunneling of atoms within the lattice. By smoothly var...

Zeno and anti-Zeno effects for quantum Brownian motion.

In this Letter, we investigate the occurrence of the Zeno and anti-Zeno effects for quantum Brownian motion. We single out the parameters of both the system and the reservoir governing the crossover between Zeno and anti-Zeno dynamics. We demonstrate that, for high reservoir temperatures, the short time behavior of environment induced decoherence is ultimately responsible for the occurrence of ...

Frequent Observations Accelerate Decay: The anti-Zeno Effect

The quantum Zeno effect (QZE) is the striking prediction that the decay of any unstable quan tum state can be inhibited by sufficiently frequent observations (measurements). The consensus opinion has upheld the QZE as a general feature of quantum mechanics which should lead to the inhibition of any decay. The claim of QZE generality hinges on the assumption that successive observations can in ...

The Zeno effect and an inter-layer pairing mechanism for high-temperature superconductivity in layered materials

Quantum Zeno Effect (QZE) is the suppression of the inter-subspace transition by a relatively fast intra-subspace decoherence. Earlier, we had proposed a QZE-based mechanism for the temperature-dependent normal-state c-axis resistivity of the layered high-Tc cuprate superconductors in which the singleparticle inter-layer tunneling is blocked by the strong intra-layer decoherence (entanglement)....
